NORIKO LIVINGSTONE

Embroidery & Flower designer

I majored in Fashion Art at University in Japan. I have a curator qualification. After graduation I studied Floristry in England. I have some volunteer experience in several countries. I am trying to work in an eco-friendly and sustainable manner. Designing embroidery and floristry has some similarities. When the different texture, space, colours and balance are in harmony I feel so comfortable.

  I often get inspiration from nature, art and alpine plants, etc. I believe that in order to pass on traditions, it is necessary to make some changes to suit the times, so I create traditional designs in a modern way.

   My future goals are writing books, creating products with companies, designing postage stamps and being displayed my projects in museums. I always enjoy producing my projects! 

刺繍 & フラワーデザイナー

大学で服飾美術を学び、学芸員資格を取得。卒業後は、フラワーデザインを学ぶため渡英。数カ国でボランティア活動をした経験があり、持続可能な環境に優しいモノづくりに取り組んでいます。刺繍とフラワーデザインは、似たところが多くあります。空間、配色そしてバランスに調和が取れた時に心地よさを感じます。自然、アートそして高山植物などからインスピレーションを得ています。伝統を継承していくためには、多少なりともその時代に合わせた変化は必要であると考えているので、伝統のデザインをモダンな形でデザインしています。

本の出版を軸に、企業と協力した製品づくり、郵便切手のデザインに携わり、美術館に私の作品が並ぶことが今後の目標です。日々、楽しみながら制作に励んでいます。
